K and I have been trying to explore some of the TexMex options available in Waco.
We recently ate at a fantastic TexMex restaurant off of Austin Ave in downtown Waco. Their food was authentically TexMex, but they had added some of their own twists that were still faithful to the cuisine.
Traditionally, after eating a meal with some spiciness, I tend to have a little stomach pain. It is something that I have learned to deal with living in NW China, eating in Thailand, and experimenting in Malaysia. A little stomach pain has never stopped me from eating.
So on Friday morning, the night after our dinner out, I went to work at 5:00 ready to rock a 4 hour shift. The stomach pain was there but nothing to stop work about. I was home by 9:30 and by 3:00 I was on my way to the emergency room with the most intense stomach pain of my life.
To make a long story short, I am now a man without an appendix. You can click on the small photo next to this if you want to see my staples up close. Check out the location of the incision too. Front and center of my abdomen instead of low and off to the right.
I spent the weekend in the hospital and am home now. I’m sore but up and around. We’re pretty thankful this happened stateside.
The picture up top is our Christmas picture. That boy is ADORABLE!
And Ace Pond Empty, the title for this post, is an anagram for appendectomy.
I SO REGRET clicking on the small picture!
ReplyDeleteYikes! Itchy, itchy. So sorry, Nick. Glad you're okay!
ReplyDeleteWow, I can't believe you got your appendix removed. Yikes!
ReplyDeleteThat's a great photo of the family!
So nice that they shaved your stomache for it! Sad to say my tube tied scar doesn't hold a candle to yours!
ReplyDeleteYou have one cute kid! Hey yall, heard through the "grapevine" (i.e. my parents) about your latest happenings concerning your goings-on in this side of the world. We are lifting you up. We remembered you today in our group and our Korean friend spoke to our Dad for you in Korean with her hubby translating. It was really beautiful. Know that we love and are thinking about you.
