N: Feb 13 & the DVD

Our next newsletter (written & in the final printing stages) mentions our future plans for China.  I couldn’t wait for it to go out so I thought this could be a little bonus for those that read ddotTodd.

******************************

The past month we have been working on our return to China for the spring semester.  Everyone has a passport, visas are ready, and then…we find out the university we have been teaching at doesn’t need us back.  It was a shock to us and our organization.  It even took the school by surprise and they were very apologetic about how this would change our plans.

We will be returning to China February 13 for approximately a month to pack our apartment and prepare to move to a new location a couple kilometers away.  My parents are even coming for about 3 weeks!  After everything is packed and moved we will return to the states until August.  In August we hope to start something that we have been working towards for some time now: full time Chinese language study in our city.

Which brings me to how you can to help me.  I have been working on a DVD for people who receive our newsletter and would love to answer any questions you might have about our past, present, and future in China.  Shoot, you can ask anything!  Want to know how we go grocery shopping? Get around the city? Order food in restaurants? Buy clothes? Eat? Do laundry? Cook? Communicate with people?

The month we are about to spend in China will be our opportunity to get some great video footage. Just leave a comment with what you are curious about and we’ll make sure to include it in the DVD.

K: Finally

Finally, a post marked K:. N has gotten pretty sick of my unplanned blogging sabbatical.

Finally, finished with my last paper for my last class of my graduate work. Feeling more free now to write other things... like blog posts.

Finally, I'm on Facebook (thanks to some well applied peer pressure). Wanna be my friend? Christmas
